How you can share a receiving address and receive bitcoin

A bitcoin address, or receiving address, is like a digital mailbox slot - anyone can send bitcoin to your wallet through your bitcoin address. Modern Bitcoin wallets automatically generate bitcoin addresses, typically when a user clicks on “recieve” or “bitcoin deposit”.

A bitcoin address will be shown to you in either a QR code or a string of text, like this: bc1q2uup33gmvczsgmkwx5kfs4stddsu48gu5gj0a2. A bitcoin wallet can have hundreds upon hundreds of bitcoin addresses, like a mailbox with limitless deposit slots.

To receive bitcoin into your Bitcoin Well account, paste your receiving address into your Bitcoin Well account. You paste your address either during your account sign up, or by navigating to "Manage account" and then "Wallet management".
