The Lightning Network is a secondary payment layer built on top of bitcoin. The Lightning Network moves bitcoin around quickly, inexpensively and privately. The Lightning Network is still new but is continuously improving with more users and apps to facilitate better payments.

A Lightning Payment Address is a static or unchanging deposit address for your Lightning wallet. This works like a typical bitcoin receiving address or like an email address - anyone can deposit bitcoin through your Payment Address at any time; payment Addresses do not expire (unlike traditional Lightning payment invoices).

Bitcoin Well supports the Lightning Network for buying bitcoin both instantly and via Recurring Buy. Add your Lightning Payment Address to your Buy bitcoin page for instant bitcoin buys and Cash Vouchers, as well as your Recurring Buy page to DCA bitcoin to your Lightning Wallet.

We recommend Coinos for your Lightning Wallet as not all Lightning Wallet support Payment Addresses yet. Register with Coinos using a username and password, your username will make up your Payment Address. For example, if your username is Canada, your Payment Address will be [email protected].

Within your Coinos profile, click on profile settings to expand and access your Payment Address.
​Note: Your payment Address is different than an LN-Invoice, which is obtained when you select "Recieve." – do not use this for your Bitcoin Well account. Select the Lighting address, or as well call it, the Payment Address.

You can paste your Lightning Payment Address to your Bitcoin Well Buy bitcoin or Recurring Buy pages. Navigate to Buy bitcoin, flip the toggle to "Lightning" and click "Add wallet" to paste your Payment Address.

To add your Payment Address for a Recurring Buy, navigate to the Recurring Buy page and add your Payment Address as an active wallet destination.
