Please review the terms of service and when you are ready to proceed check off “I agree” and then press on the “Create Bitcoin Wallet” button to proceed.
Step 4: You are now ready to backup your master recovery key. You will need a pen & paper to record your recovery phrase on. For security reasons, you do not want to store your recovery electronically. You don’t want to share this key with anyone, so it’s important to write this down in a private location. Click on “Continue” when you are ready to proceed.
Step 5: The Bitcoin blockchain is an immutable database, meaning no transaction can be undone or erased. The consequence of this is if you lose your private key and recovery phrase you won’t be able to access your money again. It’s important to keep your private key backup or recovery phrase in a safe and secure location.
Step 6: To backup your private key, you will need to write down your seed or recovery phrase. These are 12 randomly selected words that need to be written down in the correct order. When you are ready to see your 12 words, click on the button “Show my recovery phrase”
Step 7: Write these 12 words on a piece of paper. For security reasons do not take a screenshot or store them electronically, like on the cloud. When you have written down these words in order, click on the button, “I have written it down” to proceed.
Step 8: You will be tested to ensure you have written down these words correctly. Enter them in the correct order to finish setting up your wallet.
Congratulations! Your WellWallet setup is now complete. Store your recovery phrases in a safe location, such as a safety deposit box.
