How to Buy Bitcoin With Interac e-Transfer

Use Interac e-Transfer to pay from your Canadian bank account. Bitcoin Well converts your dollars into bitcoin and sends it directly to a wallet you control.

Before you start: Add or select an on-chain self-custody wallet in your Bitcoin Well account. The current minimum purchase is $10, and your available limits appear in the app.

Select Buy bitcoin

Enter the Canadian-dollar amount you want to spend.

Select the payment-method field, then choose Interac e-Transfer.

Under Destination, select the self-custody wallet that should receive your bitcoin.

Open your bank or credit union's online banking and start an Interac e-Transfer. Enter the exact recipient, security question, security answer, and e-Transfer message displayed in your Bitcoin Well account.

Use the Interac details shown in your account

Send the exact amount you entered, then monitor the purchase under Activity.

Use only the Interac details shown inside your own Bitcoin Well account. Never copy another customer's details or share your security answer, payment message, or wallet address.

Save the displayed recipient in your online banking. Future e-Transfers to that recipient can be automatically converted into bitcoin and sent to the wallet currently saved for this payment method. Confirm your destination wallet before reusing the recipient.

What happens next?

Bitcoin Well converts the funds when they are received and sends the bitcoin directly to your selected wallet. Delivery time depends on your blockchain-speed setting, network conditions, and any review performed by your financial institution.
