How to Buy Bitcoin With Your Account Balance on Lightning

Use Canadian dollars already in your Bitcoin Well account balance to make a one-time or recurring bitcoin purchase to a Lightning wallet.

Your account balance must contain enough CAD to cover the purchase. If needed, select Fund CAD and follow the funding instructions shown in your account. Manage your saved Lightning wallets before beginning the purchase.

Buy bitcoin with your account balance on Lightning

Select Buy bitcoin

Enter the amount you want to spend. It must be at least $10 and cannot exceed your available account balance.

Enter the purchase amount

Select the payment-method field, then choose Account balance.

Under Destination, select the Lightning wallet that should receive your bitcoin.

Select the Frequency field.

Open the frequency menu for the Lightning purchase

For a one-time purchase, choose One time, then select Confirm.

Choose One time and confirm the schedule

Select Review.

Review the purchase with the Lightning wallet selected

Verify the amount, Lightning destination, exchange rate, spread, and bitcoin delivery. Select Confirm purchase to finish.

Confirm the Lightning purchase

Open Activity to view the purchase status.

Completed bitcoin transactions cannot be reversed. Confirm that the selected Lightning wallet belongs to you and is the correct destination before completing the purchase.

To automate future purchases, choose a recurring schedule instead of One time. Confirm that the saved Lightning destination remains valid and keep enough CAD in your account balance before each scheduled purchase.

What happens next?

The purchase amount is deducted from your CAD balance, and the bitcoin is sent directly to your selected Lightning wallet. Monitor the purchase under Activity.
