How to Manage Your Saved Bitcoin Addresses

Use the Wallets page to add a saved Bitcoin wallet, edit its label, choose primary destinations, or delete a saved wallet from your list. Bitcoin Well supports on-chain Bitcoin addresses, Lightning Addresses, and LNURLs.

Bitcoin transactions cannot be reversed. A saved address makes future selection faster, but you must still verify the complete destination in your external wallet before every transaction.

Open your wallet manager

  1. Sign in to your Bitcoin Well account.

  1. Select Account, then select Wallets.

Add a saved wallet

  1. Select Add wallet.

  1. In Add wallet label, enter a recognizable name for the destination.

Use a label that identifies the wallet and network, such as Hardware wallet — on-chain or Mobile wallet — Lightning.

  1. Paste the destination supplied by your wallet, or use the scan button to scan its QR code. Bitcoin Well accepts a Bitcoin address, Lightning Address, or LNURL in this field.

  1. Compare the complete destination shown by Bitcoin Well with the destination in your external wallet.

Make sure the destination type matches the transaction you plan to make. Do not send an on-chain bitcoin transaction to a Lightning Address or LNURL, and do not use an on-chain address for a Lightning payment.

  1. Select Add.

The saved destination appears under All wallets and becomes available when Bitcoin Well asks you to select a wallet.

When using a new on-chain destination, consider sending a small test transaction first.

Choose your primary wallets

At the top of the Wallets page, use the Primary, On-chain primary, and Lightning primary selectors to choose the saved destinations you want Bitcoin Well to show by default.

  1. Select the primary field you want to change.
  2. Choose the correct saved wallet.
  3. Verify that the label shown in the field matches your intended destination.

Only compatible saved destinations appear in each primary selector.

Manage your wallet list and edit labels

  1. Under All wallets, select the destination you want to update.

  1. Change the wallet label to a clear, recognizable name.

  1. Review the destination, then select Save.

The screenshots hide the saved Bitcoin address for privacy. Your account shows the destination associated with that entry.

Delete a saved wallet

  1. Under All wallets, select the destination you no longer want to keep.
  2. Select Remove wallet.

  1. Confirm the removal if Bitcoin Well asks you to do so.

Removing a saved destination only removes it from your Bitcoin Well address book. It does not move, recover, or affect bitcoin held in the external wallet.

Use a saved destination safely

When buying bitcoin, open the Destination selector and choose the saved wallet by its label.

A label is not proof that an address is correct. Before every transaction, verify the complete destination in your external wallet and confirm that you are using the correct network.
